St. Vincent Churches Oppose Tommy Lee Demon Song

No stranger to controversy Gaza deejay Tommy Lee Sparta is once again the focus of some discontent among several churches in St. Vincent and The Grenadines.
Known for the diabolic ‘Uncle Demon’ song among other hits, Lee performed in the island on Saturday, November 3 as part of One Love Promotion’s Halloween Bash. According to one Evangelist,
“I first heard about the Uncle Demon song on Friday 2nd November 2012 at work and made several comments about the implications of this song during the ensuing discussion.  The article in the NEWS which was captioned “Evangelical Churches Oppose Demon Song” served to further  increase my understanding of the issue.”

He continued, “I was further horrified as I examined the lyrics closely and found dangerous, hidden messages that could lead adherents directly into the pits of hell.”
Prior to the show, The  Association of Evangelical Churches of St. Vincent and the Grenadines called on Promoter Jawanza “Sanga” Fraser to cancel the show out of concern that the lyrics of this song are ‘reprehensible” and also “promote violence, and give rise to a culture that does not respect the value of life…”
However, according to the NEWS, the promoter Mr. Fraser was unwilling to cancel the show at such a short notice because of financial losses that he would incur. Moreover, the NEWS reports that he said: “in Jamaica, the culture is about musical clashes between Deejays and Tommy Lee’s song is “just about singing.””
